Who can register?
You can be up and running with your online account in a few minutes.
If you’re 16 and over, you can manage most NS&I accounts online.
You’ll need some info ready to complete your registration:
- your personal details, including contact information
- your account/holder’s number
- details of one of your NS&I accounts
- your bank account details
You can’t register to manage an Investment Account online, but it will appear in your dashboard if you have other savings accounts.

I’ve moved address since I opened my NS&I account
If you’ve moved since you opened your account, please try and register with the address you lived in at the time.
In some cases, we may not be able to match you and you’ll need to complete and send a paper form.
We’ll let you know if this happens when you register and we’ll tell you what to do next.

I’ve recently opened an NS&I account
If you recently applied for one of our accounts online or by phone, you’re already registered. If you set your password when you applied, or you already have a password, you can log in without needing to register again.
In some cases we may send you a temporary password in the post, which can take a few days. If so, simply log in to change the temporary password to one of your choice.
If you don’t receive a password, please call us.

I’ve recently turned 16 or I have an account that I held as a child
If someone set up a savings account for you when you were a child, you’ll now be able to manage it yourself.
You’ll need to complete a registration form and send it to us first. This is because we need someone to witness your signature as proof of identity.
Once we have this, you’ll be able to manage your accounts online (except from Investment Account, which can only be managed by post).
Please ask a witness (anyone over 18, but not a family member) to write the following in a covering letter, which they’ll need to sign and date: "I certify that (your name) signed the enclosed form in my presence and that I am not a member of the same family".
We'll also need your witness to print their name, address and occupation in the same letter. Please send the letter to us with the completed form.

I’m acting as an Attorney or Deputy
Once you’ve registered your Power of Attorney or confirmation of your appointment as deputy with us, you can manage donor accounts online or by phone.
To log in:
If you have an NS&I account in your own name, log in using your details. If you don’t have an NS&I account, simply enter details of one held by the donor (their holder’s/account number), along with your own name and address.
We’ll then add the donor’s accounts and investments to your online dashboard.
If you have restricted authority, or must act jointly for all transactions with another appointed individual, you can only manage them by post.
