Changes to how we pay prizes

From December 2020, we’re stopping prize payments by warrant (like a cheque). We’ll be doing this in phases, so by March 2021 we’ll no longer send any prizes through the post.

What to expect

If you already receive your prizes directly into your bank account, you don’t need to do anything.

If you get your prizes reinvested:

If your prizes are used to automatically buy more Bonds (we call this reinvesting), we might not have your bank details, so you’ll need to make sure your account is up to date.

You can do this by logging in and going to ‘Your profile’ and selecting ‘Your prize options’.

If you still get your prizes by post:

If you still receive your prizes through the post, you’ll need to let us know your bank details to carry on receiving any prizes you win. But don’t worry, your prizes are safe with us. We’ll hold onto them until we have your bank details.

You can update your prize options by logging in to your online account and following the instructions on screen.

Once you’re all set up, you can manage your prize options at any time by logging in and going to ‘Your profile’ and selecting ‘Your prize options’. This includes being able to change your bank details, choose to have your prizes reinvested into more Premium Bonds and choose how we notify you if you’ve been lucky in the prize draw (by text message or email).
