Questions: Sheltered housing

October 2009

Asking the right questions is an important step towards getting the right care.

If you're moving into sheltered housing, you might find it useful to consider the following questions first:

  1. Is it possible to organise help and additional security in the home you currently live in?
  2. How do you think you might feel about living somewhere smaller? You might need to buy different furniture or get used to having no garden of your own.
  3. Would you mind living in accommodation that is occupied exclusively by elderly people?
  4. Would the move require you to move away from friends and family? If so, how would that make you feel?
