NS&I Fixed Interest Savings Certificates are lump sum investments that earn guaranteed rates of interest over set periods of time, called 'terms'. They're free of UK Income Tax and Capital Gains Tax, whatever rate you normally pay. You don't even need to declare the interest on your tax return.
When on sale, they normally offer a choice of fixed rate terms, so you can choose which one suits you best.
