Press releaseIFA CHANNEL MANAGER REQUIRED BY NATIONAL SAVINGS AND INVESTMENTS 05 November 2004National Savings and Investments (NS&I) is seeking an experienced person to establish and develop relationships with independent financial advisers and implement a varied sales and marketing programme. The vacancy has become available following the departure of Sally Mantell who joined NS&I in 2001 and developed National Savings and Investments’ IFA channel. NS&I is committed to retaining a strong profile in the intermediary sector. The role of IFA channel manager is principally as a negotiator and ambassador for NS&I, promoting its name and business among the IFA community through face-to-face communications, sponsorship deals, corporate events and conferences. NS&I, the Treasury-backed savings and investments provider, is looking for someone who has five or more years relevant experience in an IFA advisory-based business within a sales and marketing role, possibly in a large IFA business or network, or was responsible for the IFA channel in a bank or other financial provider. NS&I sales director, John Prout, said: “Sally did a tremendous job in putting us on the radar in this sector, and became very well respected on the event circuit. Regrettably for us she has decided to pursue a new career opportunity, and we now wish to build on the start she made by making an appointment that both enhances our presence and recognises the unique position that we have in the nation’s saving financial fabric.” Prout adds: “The role would be very much of an ambassadorial nature, but would also take forward a number of initiatives designed to develop closer supports for those customers who have strong links with an IFA.” NS&I has also recently also signed a significant extension to its contract with the Post Office and is also looking for additional and complementary new distribution partners. The business has also enjoyed spectacular growth in its direct channels, with telephone sales on track to exceed £1.4 billion this year. Significant year on year growth based on a broad channel strategy is expected. ENDS Notes to Editors For more information, contact the NS&I media team
