Press releaseERNIE PICKS ANOTHER SURREY JACKPOT WINNER01 April 2004SOMEONE IN SURREY CELEBRATES £1MILLION PREMIUM BOND JACKPOTWinning number 75 HD 764280 One resident from Surrey is £1 million richer today after ERNIE, the Premium Bond number generator, raced his way through billions of Premium Bond numbers picking this month’s jackpot winning number in the lucky county. The winner – who has asked that their identity is kept secret – was told in person by Agent Million, the mystery person who pays a personal visit to the winner to give them the good news. This is Surrey’s 12th £1 million Premium Bond jackpot winner since the top prize was introduced in 1994, and April’s winner becomes the 121st Premium Bond millionaire overall. This month’s winning jackpot number was bought in November 2000. In Surrey, 546,299 people own Premium Bonds worth just over £887 million. There are approximately 10,382 unclaimed prizes in the county, worth £609,850. There is no time limit on claiming prizes. Premium Bond investors can check if they have won by logging on to www.nsandi.com and using the Premium Bond prize checker. The popularity of Premium Bonds has grown dramatically over the past five years as the amount invested has doubled to £23 billion. ENDS Notes to Editors 1.
