MARKETING PARTNERSHIP WITH TESCO PERSONAL FINANCE AND ANNUAL RESULTS ANNOUNCEMENT

NATIONAL SAVINGS AND INVESTMENTS TEAMS UP WITH TESCO PERSONAL FINANCE

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) today announces a major marketing deal and publishes its Annual Report. Both stories are summarised below and full details can be found in the attached press releases.

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) today announces a marketing partnership with Tesco Personal Finance which will involve the following:
Tesco Personal Finance will market NS&I’s tax-free Premium Bonds and inflation-beating Index-linked Savings Certificates in over 500 stores from early 2006
An initial trial will be in 50 Tesco stores by the end of 2005.

NATIONAL SAVINGS AND INVESTMENTS ANNUAL RESULTS FOR YEAR ENDING 31 MARCH 2005

National Savings and Investments today announces its annual results and publishes its Annual Report and Accounts for the year to 31 March 2005 (2004/05).

Key highlights include:

Record £68.5 billion funds invested, up from £66.5 billion the previous year
£1.97 billion net financing achieved
On track to meet previously announced £15 billion five year net financing target by 2007-08
Marketing partnership announced with Tesco Personal Finance today
