NS&I QUARTERLY SAVINGS SURVEY – ISSUE 4

Summer 2005 Savings Survey released on 5 September, embargoed for 9 September

National Savings and Investments (NS&I) will be publishing its fourth Quarterly Savings Survey on 9 September 2005. The Summer 2005 Survey provides detailed analysis of saving trends in the three months to 31 August 2005 and completes the picture of the peaks and lows of the UK consumer savings market over the last year.

The survey will reveal

  • How seasons affect saving.
  • Who are the champion savers and what motivates them?
  • Have savings recovered from the dip in the spring?
  • Will the savings trends in the autumn match those from last year?
  • Are children being educated about finance at home?
  • Which savings products offer the best value after recent cuts in the base rate?

Offering insight and comprehensive analysis into the development of savings trends over the last year, the NS&I Savings Survey provides an incisive and continuous view of the UK savings market.
