Press releaseNS&I SEEKS WEB SALES STRATEGIST06 April 2005Growing online business means opportunity to drive strategy National Savings and Investments (NS&I), the government backed savings provider, is looking to recruit an internet sales development manager to support its growing online sales business. The new, senior role has been created in order for NS&I to drive forward the online sales strategy. In January this year, Premium Bond online sales were launched at the same time NS&I revealed its new-look website, and more products will be available to buy online in 2005. The internet sales development manager will drive sales and acquire customers by initiating sales campaigns, driving forward changes for the development of the online channel, develop search engine optimisation and develop relationships through networks and affiliate partnerships. They will also be required to develop NS&I’s online presence to provide impartial information, education and advice for consumers. NS&I has had an online presence since 2000 and introduced online sales in September 2002 for six products, including its Savings Certificates and cash mini ISA. In January 2004, NS&I launched its Easy Access Savings Account, which could be opened online and, in January 2005, Premium Bonds became available to buy online. Since the launch in January, sales of over £100 million were achieved. John Prout, NS&I sales director, said: “As a business we are developing, modernising and improving the way in which customers can save and invest with us. “Our decision to recruit an internet sales development manager is a clear sign of our intention to continue to develop our online sales and services strategy. In the coming years we want to make this channel better for customers and more effective for NS&I.” The candidate will have five years’ sales experience in financial services or similar where the role focus has been on developing internet sales and web marketing strategy.
