It's an exciting day for the residents in the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames, as they wake up to find that ERNIE has picked this month's Premium Bond millionaire in their area. This month's million pound jackpot comes to the London Borough of Kingston upon Thames for the first time since National Savings and Investments introduced the monthly jackpot prize in 1994. The winner becomes ERNIE's 111th Premium Bond millionaire. Premium Bonds are Britain's best kept secret, with over 20 billion bonds owned by 23 million people entered into June's draw. Premium Bonds are a serious investment, offering the chance of tax-free returns. Each bond goes into the draw every month and, win or not, investors always retain their original investment. 2.7 million residents in London own £2.4 billion of Premium Bonds. There are over 88,000 unclaimed prizes in London worth £5.3 million including two prizes worth £25,000, one worth £10,000 and seven worth £5,000.
