Responsible for all Human Resources Development activities within the firm, including budget management of over £4 million and line responsibility for a function employing 25 specialists plus 30+ venue staff running an internal training centre.

1999-2004: National Director of Training, Grant Thornton UK LLP

Responsible for the internal learning function and management of an in-house residential training and development centre.

1997-1999: Head of Management Development, NatWest Group

Responsible for the design and implementation of a new suite of management and leadership development programmes for staff.

1995-1997: Senior Manager, HR, NatWest Retail

Responsible for developing the HR strategy specific to the UK retail bank, working with business managers and HR professionals at Group level.

1994-1995: Seconded by NatWest as one of six selected for the Integrated MBA programme, Warwick Business School

1991-1994: Courses Manager, NatWest Group

Responsible for all aspects of the management of the internal training team specialising in personal, management development, lending and sales skills. 

1981-1991: Held a number of senior roles as Investment Analyst and Economist/Senior Economist/Manager at Confederation Life, the Confederation of British Industry, Standard Chartered Bank and NatWest Group.

Personal details

Education: Degree in Philosophy Politics and Economics from Pembroke College, Oxford, as well as an MBA from Warwick Business School.
