NS&I withdraws 1 and 2-year Issues of Bonds

NS&I Guaranteed Growth Bonds and Guaranteed Income Bonds:

Withdrawal of 1 and 2-year Issues

Recent interest in the 1 and 2-year Issues of Guaranteed Growth Bonds and Guaranteed Income Bonds has far exceeded our expectations, and we have reached our forecast levels of investment earlier than planned. Hence NS&I has withdrawn from sale the 1 and 2-year Issues of these investments with immediate effect.

We apologise for any inconvenience and disappointment that you and your clients may experience as a result of this decision. However the 3 and 5-year Issues remain on sale for new customers, and continue to offer attractive rates:

5-year

Your clients can invest any amount from £500 to £1 million across both Bond variants (and previous Issues of Fixed Rate Savings Bonds). Because of limits on the size of transactions with some debit cards, for larger investments your clients may find it easier to apply by post and pay by cheque.

UK Income Tax (currently 20%) will be deducted from the interest before it is added. Bonds may be cashed in early subject to a penalty equivalent to 90 days’ interest.

We also offer a wide range of other savings and investments, including Income Bonds, Fixed Interest Savings Certificates, Index-linked Savings Certificates and Premium Bonds.

And because NS&I is backed by HM Treasury, and has been for almost 150 years, all money invested with us is 100% secure on 0845 971 5401*.
