The winner from Kent, who wishes to remain anonymous, stated “I’ve kept faith that I would win the jackpot one day and receive a visit from Agent Million. I am really very excited at the prospect of spending some of this money, it will make treating the children and grandchildren that much easier!” In Kent over 790,000 people own Premium Bonds, worth a total of just over £1.26 billion. There are also 12,135 unclaimed Premium Bond Prizes in Kent, worth a total value of over £700,000. It is the ninth time that someone in the county has won the Premium Bond jackpot prize. The winner from the Gwent also wishes to remain anonymous. In Gwent just under 224,000 people own Premium Bonds, worth in total over £259 million. There are also over 2,850 unclaimed Premium Bond Prizes in Gwent, worth a total value of over £166,000. This is the second time that someone in Gwent has won the jackpot. In May’s draw ERNIE paid out over 1.6 million prizes, together amounting to more than £102 million in value. There were 36,336,074,340 bond numbers in the draw.
Premium Bond Facts The current Premium Bonds prize fund rate is 3.40% tax-free2. The odds of each £1 bond number winning any prize are 22,000 to 1, with average luck, an investor with £30,000 in Premium Bonds could win 16 tax-free prizes a year. 23 million people have a total of £36 billion invested in Premium Bonds.
